May 13, 2026

We’re wrapping up this year’s Priority on Youth series on May 31 at Forge Fencing Academy, marking the end of what has been our largest and most successful season to date.

Across four events, participation and consistency have been strong, with athletes traveling in from clubs across North Carolina and the Washington, DC area. It’s been great to see the level of engagement grow, along with athletes continuing to build experience in a competitive setting that emphasizes development and sportsmanship.

Coaches and Teen Leaders help build confidence by inspiring and educating.

Finale Details

The May 31 event will serve as our final competition of the series, along with a few end-of-season traditions:

  • Prize Table: Athletes who attended at least 3 of the 4 events will be eligible to select a prize. A simple way to recognize commitment across the full series.
  • Community Potluck: After the fencing wraps up, we’ll gather for a community potluck. Families are encouraged to bring something to share—it’s a relaxed way to close out the season together. The event begins at 6pm, RSVP HERE!
  • Senior Salute: Our community acknowledges the work and contribution of our High School Seniors with the Forge Senior Salute as we launch them with love and support onto their next adventures.

Teen Leader Program

Our Forge Teams Teen Leader Program continues to play an important role in these events. From officiating to helping run tournament operations to mentoring younger fencers, these athletes have contributed in meaningful ways throughout the season.

Closing Out the Season

Priority on Youth continues to be an important part of how we introduce athletes to competition and help them build confidence over time.

We’re looking forward to a strong finish on May 31 and hope to see everyone there.

Forge supports youth athlete development by creating a positive, supportive environment designed to maximize each athlete’s experience and growth.

Prize Table Eligibility

This is always a highlight for our athletes. Fencers who have participated in at least 3 of the 4 events are eligible to select a prize at the Finale.

Athletes who are shaded on the tracking spreadsheet will need to compete in the Finale to reach the three-event minimum and qualify. Those who are not shaded have already met the participation requirement. Final prize table order will be determined using each athlete’s top three point finishes from the series.
