October 19, 2023

Forge welcomed 398 competing athletes from Region 6 of USA Fencing over the weekend of October 14th & 15th, 2023. The event had a total of 233 foil entries, 218 epee entries, 245 saber entries and included 16 events representing all three Olympic-style fencing weapons in the categories of Y8, Y10, Y12, Y14, Cadet and Junior events.

This USA Regional Qualification event took place at the Leroy T. Walker Physical Education and Recreation Complex on the North Carolina Central University campus. This was the first national qualification event hosted at an HBCU (Historically Black College or University).

Running a large regional tournament like the Bull City takes the combined efforts of many.  We are grateful to our community participating clubs and athlete families for all of their efforts and to our coaching staff for their continued work to build healthy and strong athletes.

We would like to thank the event volunteers, staff, participants and their families for their diligent service to make this an outstanding event.
