8/26 (Friday) Open House Fencing for Foil and Epee 6pm – 9:00pm. Register HERE. (Members just show up and nonmembers please use pre-registration via the link.)
8/26 (Friday) Free Beginner Community Class 6:30 – 7:30pm. Tell a friend who wants to try fencing out! We will show you the basics, suit you up, so you can get a feel of what it is like to ‘get hit’ by a sword. Ages 7 and up, parents with fencers are all welcome. Limited space, please register here if you are a new fencer.
All DAY 8/27-8/28 THE BIG BLUE is Back! This is a sanctioned USA Fencing event for USA Fencing Members to compete and socialize. Saturday we welcome Baton Rouge Cuisine in our parking lot.
8/29 (Monday) Facility Maintenance. We need volunteers in the afternoon and evening to help with de-scuffing our floor, setting up our armory, painting, and all-around recovery from summer. Thank you in advance! Volunteer times are 1:30-4:00pm or 6:30pm-8:30pm. Email jen@forgeteams.org to say when you can help.
8/30 (Tuesday) Foil Open House 5:30-9:00pm
Meet and Greet with the foil coaches, sign up for an evaluation lesson and learn about our foil program in development. Open to members and nonmembers. Schedule:
- 5:30pm Annual SWAP MEET begins: Buy, sell, or trade!
- Armorer Dennis Crumpler will be onsite for armory services.
- 5:30 PM VR Fencing Demonstration from Global Fencing Masters. They will be online until 7pm testing with fencers.
- 6:00pm Foil Lesson Demonstration: “From Beginner to Div I” Coaches Vince, Stephen and Jen will lead discussion and demonstrations of the stages of development in a foil fencer and work to demystify the training experience.
- Free Beginner Community Class 6:30 – 7:30pm .Tell a friend who wants to try fencing out!
