The Forge Travel Team kicked off the national event calendar in Atlantic City, New Jersey last weekend for the October North American Cup, the first of the season.
Our athletes competed in Division 1, Division 2, and Junior in saber and epee. These were intense, fun, and tough events with the best fencers in North America coming together to battle. Highlights included Sky Miller launching back onto the Div 1 circuit, Tyson Deck finishing with a solid 99th out of 309 fencers in Junior Men’s Saber, Myer Bramlett entering the arena in his first national event in Division 2 Men’s Saber, Ava Ellis Furlong finishing in the in the top 32 in Division 2 Women’s Saber, and Lauren Dunseath fighting to a top 64 finish in Division 2 Women’s Epee.
On the last day, Forge Fencer Nora Xie battled to a BRONZE medal in Division 2 Women's Saber. Nora, alongside our women's team, fought hard throughout the day. Team support was strong, and teammate Tyson Deck came in to support the squad, along with the Forge fencing family.
